Photo basics

Photo-CompositionThere are some photo basics everyone should know in order to take great photographs. One of those keys is how to compose a photograph.

Over at Macworld they’ve posted a really neat tutorial that covers composition basics. What is image composition, “it’s the process of making the subject of a photo clearer, and the overall image less complicated. These tips for beginner photographers explain the essential techniques needed for framing a great photo.”

Camera+ 2.0 Review

I love app reviews. And since I have a number of friends who use Camera+ I wanted to be sure I shared the latest review with all of you.

Over at Macgasm they have provided us with an excellent review of the good and the not so good about Camera+. One of the cons they point out, it is very processor intensive. This one “con” is overshadowed by all the “pros” this app has.

Manage your Photos

CourierMacworld reviews 3 apps to help us manage our pictures.

First up in their review is a favorite of mine, Courier from RealMac Software. Courier simplifies the uploading process for a variety of sites, and also allows you to quickly and easily send files to your favorite sites at the same time with a few clicks.

Among the other apps reviewed, Photonic and iPhoto Library Manager.

Aperture Updated

ApertureApple released an update to Aperture bringing the most current version to 3.1.1. Aperture is Apple’s popular photo management and editing software.

The version update addresses the overall stability of the application and performance to include over 20 bug fixes as reported by TUAW . Their article highlights 3 fixes included with the update; compatibility with the iLife Media Browser, improved reliability when upgrading previous libraries and issues publishing photos to Mobile Me, Facebook and Flickr.
